Day 1: Arrival at the airport in Tel Aviv. Reception and transfer to hotel in Bethlehem for the overnight.
Day 2: Bethlehem – Jerusalem – Bethlehem
After breakfast, the day will be spent visiting holy Jerusalem, at the crossroads of different civilizations where you will come across remains of ancient mosaics and treasures from the Roman and Byzantine period, the Crusaders and the Ottoman Empire to name but a few. In the Old City you will encounter oriental charm and be plunged into the souk’s colorful alleys which take you to the meeting places of the three major monotheistic religions: whether along the Via Dolorosa or the Holy Sepulchre, the Dome of Rock and the Wailing Wall, you will be projected into the past, overwhelmed by its inhabitants’ array of experiences, those who have imprinted upon the city their unique religious and architectural marks. Day 3 : Bethlehem – Jerusalem – Bethlehem
After breakfast, there is a tour in Bethlehem, This pretty little town in the heart of the hills is a home to the Cave of the Nativity where Jesus was born, as well as it being a city which dates back more than three thousand years with many architectural and historical treasures. A stroll through its old streets with its numerous churches and mosques and ancient relics allows you to experience the charm of a small sized town, where you will encounter the typical Palestinian culture. After visit Jerusalem: visit to the Mount of Olives upon which you will come across a wonderful panoramic view of central Jerusalem. You can also visit the Sanctuary of the Ascension, the Franciscan Chapel of Dominus Flevit, the tomb of the Virgin, as well as the Basilica of all Nations, « Gethsemane » and the Church of the Pater Noster. From here you will arrive in the Old City to walk through the souk. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Bethlehem.
Day 4: Jaffa – Haifa – Acre – Nazareth
After breakfast, you will drive along the Mediterranean coast to the legendary city of Jaffa. You will then continue to the port of Haifa and Mount Carmel where Elijah challenged Queen Jezebel and the prophets of Baal. You will visit the Acre, the Ancient town of St. John of Acre. It was the Crusaders who for two centuries made the city an important base. Its high, fortified walls overlooking the sea are a feast for the eyes. You will visit there El Jazzar Mosque, the ancient Crusader city, the Hammam al-Pasha, the Caravanserai and oriental bazaar dating back to the nineteenth century. Day 5: Nazareth – Lake of Tiberias – Nazareth
After breakfast, visit to Nazareth, the Basilica of the Annunciation, you will move onto Lake Tiberias, one of the main places of Jesus’ activities including it being the place he called his first disciples. A day immersed in Biblical significance on the Galilee and on the shores of Lake Tiberias, is a fascinating journey through time, reuniting you with events that have shaped and will forever shape the history of our civilization. Around the lake you will visit the beautiful church of Tabgha which is remembered because of the miracle of the multiplication of loaves, and the Mount of Beatitudes and Capernaum, with the house of St. Peter. Day 6: Nazareth – Jerash – Amman
After breakfast, cross to Jordan via the Sh. Hussien. Start with the visit by Jerash – A close second to Petra on the list of favourite destinations in Jordan, The ancient city of Jerash boasts an unbroken chain of human occupation dating back more than 6,500 years. It lies on a plain surrounded by hilly wooded areas and fertile basins. Conquered by General Pompey in 63 BC, it came under Roman rule and was one of the ten great Roman cities, the Decapolis League. Jerash, was known as the Pompeii of the east, and also known as the city of 1000 pillars, you will also visit the triple arched gate, the huge hippodrome, the theatre… continue to Amman. Amman is the capital of Jordan, a fascinating city of contrasts – a unique blend of old and new, ideally situation on a hilly area between the desert and the fertile Jordan Valley. The visit will include the fascinating Roman Theatre and Nymphaeum that reflect the historic legacy of the city, and the enchanting Citadel which has stood since the ancient times of the Ammonites. Diner and overnight at the hotel in Amman.
Day 7: Amman – Madaba – Mt Nebo – Kerak – Petra
After breakfast, visit to the biblical town of Madaba. Madaba is best known for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics and for its Greek Orthodox Church of St. George. Here we will view the earliest original map of Palestine. We continue to the biblical Mt. Nebo which, believed to be the site of the tomb of Moses, commands a spectacular view across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Visit the Kerak castle with its diverse history dated from the Byzantine to the Mamluk period. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Petra.
Day 8: Petra
Full day visiting Petra Site. Petra – one of the world’s greatest archaeological sites and today’s one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The 2,000-year old ancient city of Petra. Known as the red rock city, Petra was the ancient capital of the Nabateans from the 3rd century BC to the 2nd century AC. Carved by the Nabateans out of solid rock, Petra was forgotten for hundreds of years until it was rediscovered in 1812. At the entrance to Petra travellers are offered the option to ride a horse for 800m – from the visitors centre to the entrance of the dramatic «Siq» ( canyon). From the entrance to the Siq there is a 1,250 meter walk to the 1st monument «The treasury». Throughout most of the day we will explore Petra’s incredible structures: the treasury, the field of tombs, the obelisks and the altar, and much more. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Petra.
Day 9: Petra – Dead Sea – Jericho – Bethlehem
After breakfast, you will experience the indescribable feeling of floating on the Dead Sea. After cross to Palestine via the Allenby Bridge. Visit the green oasis near the Dead Sea- Jericho- which was made famous by the discovery at Tel es-Sultan, of one of the oldest cities of the Levant dating from the eighth millennium BC. After the visit of Mount Quarantine you will cross the desert to Bethlehem. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Bethlehem.
Day 10: Departure
After breakfast transfer to the airport in Tel Aviv for the return flight.
